Knowledge & Practice · Creator Matching

How do you find creators who genuinely fit your brand?

The biggest creator can be the wrong one.

That's why good creator selection doesn't start with a list sorted by follower count.

It starts with the brand's goal.

Only then comes the question:

Who can credibly support exactly this goal?

Seven questions before you choose

  1. What do we want to achieve?

    • Awareness?
    • Content?
    • Sales?
    • A product launch?
    • A new community?
  2. Who do we want to reach?

    Age alone isn't enough.

    More interesting are:

    • interests
    • life situation
    • problems
    • buying motives
    • community context
  3. Does the topic fit?

A product shouldn't feel completely out of place in the creator's existing content.

  4. Does the tone fit?

A luxury brand and a comedy creator can work.

But only if the connection is credible.

  5. How good is the content?

    Can the creator:

    • tell a story,
    • demonstrate,
    • explain,
    • convince visually?
  6. What's the community like?

    Not just its size.

    Also:

    • engagement
    • discussion
    • trust
    • topic fit
  7. Are there any risks?

Past content, controversies or conflicting partnerships can be relevant.

Example

Two creators:

Creator A

  • general lifestyle

Creator B

  • outdoor, hiking, camping
  • a highly engaged community

For a specialist trekking brand, Creator B can be far more relevant.

Reach is only valuable if it reaches the right people.

Micro or bigger?

Both can make sense.

Micro-creators
often more specialised, more personal, smaller reach.
Bigger creators
higher potential reach, often bigger budgets.

The choice should depend on the campaign goal.

Matching is more than a database search

Data can find candidates.

But real brand fit often also needs:

  • context
  • an understanding of the content
  • the campaign goal
  • risk assessment
  • human judgement

In short

The best creator isn't the biggest.

It's the one who:

fits the task, the audience and the brand.

You have a goal. We'll find the creators for it.
